Greet, register, and room patients; collect vital signs and patient history. Assist providers with clinical procedures and perform point-of-care testing as directed. Provide patient education and comfort, review after-visit instructions, and conduct follow-up calls. Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and clinic logs per protocol. Communicate with patients, providers, pharmacies, and staff effectively. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and safety standards. Participate in clinic meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives. Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
Current Iowa certification as EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or CMA IF EMT/Paramedic: Current and Active Permit to Practice/License in State of Practice IF LPN: Current and Active/Unencumbered LPN License in State of Practice IF Certified Medical Assistant: Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or associate’s degree) required. Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following required: National Healthcare Association American Association of Medical Assistants National Center for Competency Testing National Certified Medical Assistant National Association of Health Professionals American Registry of Medical Assistants American Allied Health American Medical Technologists Clinical experience preferred! Epic experience a plus! For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or to float to other locations to support optimized staffing
Requires current Iowa certification as an EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or CMA from an accredited program. Clinical experience and proficiency with Epic are preferred.
