The EKG Technician performs EKGs, places event monitors, and assists with various cardiac diagnostic procedures under the direction of the Operations Manager. They are also responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, responding to cardiac emergencies, and educating patients on monitoring equipment.

Performs EKG’s and places Event monitors on patients under the supervision and direction of the Operations Manager.
Other Related Functions Assists with transporting patients. Schedules patients for cardiology procedures. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess date reflective of the patient’s status and interprets the appropriate age-specific needs, and to provides the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures. Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development and continuing education.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have successfully completed a Basic ECG Interpretation course for non-licensed personnel. A current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification is also required for this position.
