About the role

The Sleep Technician Trainee performs various sleep studies to help diagnose the type and extent of sleep disorders. This role operates under the direct supervision of senior technologists and the Medical Director.

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary

The Sleep Technician Trainee develops competency in and performs a variety of sleep studies to assist in the diagnosis of the type and extent of sleep disorders. The Sleep Technician Trainee works under the direct supervision of a sleep technician or technologist, lead technologist in collaboration with the Manager and Medical Director.

Required Qualifications

RPSGT eligible and obtained within 12 months of hire within the clinic. Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Minimum 6 months experience working in a direct patient care position Medical Board of California Polysomnographic Trainee license within 6 months of High school diploma/ GED Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills Computer skills appropriate to the job Clinical experience BLS Required Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Experience in an accredited sleep center Enrolled in or recent graduate of CAAHEP CoA-PSG program Bachelor's Degree in related field Associate degree 1 year of experience as a sleep technician
