Position Summary
The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescents through geriatrics. Job Requirements
Mental Health Technician (MHT)
Required: A mandatory 2-week orientation class is required.
Required
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be 21 and over
Preferred but not required: Certified Nursing Assistant; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, or appropriate therapeutic discipline highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year(s) of related patient care experience.
- Preferred but not required: Previous experienced and knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness.
