Responsibilities

  • Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or group of patients in the operating room according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
  • Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other disciplines.
  • Assist with preoperative preparation, intraoperative duties, and postoperative transition as part of the perioperative team.
  • Maintain a sterile field, follow aseptic technique, and ensure patient safety and infection control throughout the perioperative period.
  • Monitor patient status, hemodynamics, and anesthesia-related parameters; document accurately and communicate changes to the team.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to optimize patient flow and outcomes from pre-op through recovery.

Requirements

  • Active RN license (state to be verified)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Perioperative or operating room nursing experience preferred
  • Ability to work daytime hours, 40 hours per week, in a fast-paced OR setting
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
