About the role

Deliver comprehensive care to patients in the Intermediate Care Unit using the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate interventions. Maintain continuity of care and implement age-specific safety and infection control measures.

RN (Registered Nurse)-Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) / Step-Down Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better Together Work Location: Texas Health Allen is located at 1105 Central Expwy North TX 75013 Work Schedule: Full time, Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM); 36 hrs. per week with rotating weekends and holidays required PCU Department Highlights: Texas Health Allen is a leading provider in quality patient care for its surrounding community. Our 12 bed IMC Unit provides critical/progressive level of care for a mixed patient population on a 3:1 or 4:1 Nurse to patient ratio depending on acuity. With experienced, compassionate and skilled staff we strive to create a patient centered environment while fostering positive teamwork.

What you need

  • · Diploma of Nursing OR Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required. · BSN preferred. · 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of RN residency program Required · 2 years’ experience as a registered nurse or 6 months Critical Care experience preferred · Current RN licensure upon hire required · BCLS—Basic Cardiac Life Support—Prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required · ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support

  • What you will do: · Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process · Assesses the patient · Plans the care of the patient · Intervenes as appropriate · Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions · Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care. · Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information · Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.

Requirements

Requires a Diploma or Associate degree in Nursing and current RN licensure, with at least one year of experience or completion of a residency. BCLS is required prior to independent care, with ACLS and CPI certifications required shortly after hire.
