Responsibilities

  • Assess and participate in rehabilitative programs to restore or improve function in activities of daily living, functional mobility, cognitive tasks, strength, coordination, and range of motion for patients in acute care.
  • Plan, organize, and implement evidence-based treatment approaches under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist; document progress and adapt interventions as needed.
  • Support interdisciplinary care by contributing to discharge planning, promoting patient independence, and facilitating functional mobility and safety during therapy sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards and facility policies; maintain accurate patient records and communicate changes in status to the care team.

Requirements

  • Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license (or eligibility) in good standing; state-specific licensure as required.
  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting from an ACOTE-accredited program.
  • Relevant experience in acute care or inpatient rehabilitation preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care setting; strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Flexibility to work a 3x12-hour shift schedule and adapt to assignment requirements.
