Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services to patients within an acute care–level performance framework in a skilled care setting.
  • Assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and functional abilities; develop individualized treatment plans focused on activities of daily living, mobility, safety, and discharge goals.
  • Implement therapy interventions, including therapeutic activities, assistive device training, gait and balance work, and adaptive equipment instruction.
  • Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the patient record; communicate progress with the multidisciplinary team and families as appropriate.
  • Participate in goal setting, progress reassessment, and discharge planning; educate patients and caregivers on home programs and safety techniques.
  • Maintain safety and infection control standards; ensure equipment is properly used and cared for; collaborate with nursing and therapy colleagues to optimize patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Active Occupational Therapist license in California
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Ability to provide services in a skilled nursing facility environment
  • Willingness to participate in a travel-based assignment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
