The RN provides direct and indirect patient care within the Wound Care Center under provider supervision. Responsibilities include performing physical assessments, documenting in electronic health records, and managing clinic flow for optimal patient experience.
The Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) is primarily responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care to the Wound Care Center patients as scheduled under the supervision of a group of providers.
Must be able to use critical thinking and leadership skills to prioritize needs of clinic, allowing for most efficient clinic flow, and optimal patient experience.
The RN will demonstrate knowledge of the nursing process as a standard, incorporating elements of holistic patient centered care through the collection, verification and organization of data about a patient’s health status, planning for care, implementation of the plan and evaluation.
The incumbent will be required to function independently during Nurse Appointments, which include but are not limited to physical assessments and pain assessment and documentation in the electronic health record.
This individual will possess strong assessment skills, be able to multitask and react to changing situations easily.
Must assure that patients are appropriately educated and scheduled for procedures as necessary.
Assist and train staff to support physician in-office procedures.
Required to accommodate for and attend 80% of all scheduled meetings.
All staff is considered first to be an employee of St.
Peter’s Medical Group first.
Because of this, there is an expectation that they may float to other SPHMG areas when not needed in assigned area.
1-2 years of experience preferred or a new graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Must demonstrate maturity in judgment, demonstrate organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing environments, recognize and assist where help is needed. Experience in skin/wound assessment preferred.
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, BSN preferred. Maintains knowledge, skills, and abilities through ongoing education. Completes all mandatory review/education as required and assigned
Licensed in the state of Montana as a Registered Nurse. Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and re-certification every two years. WCC and/or CWS certification preferred.
Ability to achieve cognitive, organization and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers. Possesses interpersonal/communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental, service-oriented, empathetic patient care and customer relations. Open to feedback and in a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments. Possesses knowledge of nursing roles in the clinical setting and demonstrates an active, engaged willingness and aptitude for on-going professional development, completion of required education and integration of experience into applied nursing practice. Demonstrates ability to perform skin/wound assessments on multiple age groups. Effective and positive customer service skills needed to respond to clients/staff needs and to respond to concerns in a positive manner.
Candidates must be a Registered Nurse licensed in Montana with BLS certification; BSN and WCC/CWS certifications are preferred. Experience of 1-2 years is preferred, though new graduates from accredited nursing schools are accepted.
