The counselor will conduct individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based curricula for clients in a substance abuse recovery program. Responsibilities include performing detailed assessments, developing comprehensive treatment plans, and maintaining client records in the AWARDS system.
CASAC or CASAC-T with HSD/GED Spanish speaking a plus. A thorough understanding of the disease of addiction and the impact it can have on the lives of our clients. Knowledge of motivational interviewing and the stages of change as well as person-centered practices. Theoretical knowledge of a client’s psychological and physical needs and an understanding of group work practices and principles needed. Knowledge of OASAS 822 outpatient program a plus.
