About the role

The pharmacy technician assists pharmacists in preparing medications and IV fluids for delivery to hospital departments. They are also responsible for interviewing patients to obtain accurate medication histories in nursing areas.

Work Shift

Night - 8 Hour (United States of America)8

30pm - 7:00am (40 Weekly Hours)

The pharmacy technician is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in the preparation of medications and IV fluids and delivery of products to various hospital departments. In the nursing areas, the pharmacy technician will interview patients for medication histories. The technician works under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Education & Training

High School graduate or GED equivalent.

Experience

None.

Required Certification/Registration/Licensure

Current Certified Pharmacy Technician by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Registered Pharmacy Tech with the State of Georgia as verified by the Georgia Secretary of State’s professional licensing board.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Utilizes a variety of standard office equipment to include computer, printers, labeling machine, fax machine, copier. Also utilizes IV Flow Hood. Computer literacy of word processing, etc.
