Salary Range

Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or human services

$25.00/hour

Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling: $60,000/annually

Salary increases with licensure, clinical licensure, or certification as a CADC.

Schedule: Full-Time | Every other Friday off (paid wellness day)

About the Role

The Assessment Clinician plays a critical role in evaluating and diagnosing individuals to inform treatment planning and support services.

This position involves conducting comprehensive clinical assessments using standardized tools and clinical interviews to gather relevant psychological, behavioral, and social information.

The clinician collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to interpret assessment data and develop individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each client.

Additionally, the role requires maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.

Ultimately, the Assessment Clinician contributes to improving client outcomes by providing thorough and insightful evaluations that guide effective interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations using evidence-based tools and techniques
  • Gather and analyze client history, behavioral observations, and collateral information to inform assessment outcomes
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, case managers, and families to develop comprehensive treatment plans
  • Document assessment findings clearly and accurately in client records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal standards
  • Stay current with best practices and emerging research in clinical assessment to enhance evaluation quality

  • The clinician is skilled in the use of standardized screening and assessment tools — including IM-CANS/IM-CAT, ASAM criteria, and other validated instruments — to guide level-of-care determinations and treatment planning.
  • Proficiency in documentation ensures that all findings are recorded clearly and comply with regulatory standards.
  • The clinician applies cultural competence and empathy to engage clients from diverse backgrounds sensitively and respectfully.
  • Additionally, adaptability and continuous learning enable the clinician to incorporate new assessment methodologies and maintain best practices in daily work.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related behavioral health field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Ability to obtain CADC, LSW, or LPC credential within 24 months of hire
  • Demonstrated experience conducting clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations
  • Strong knowledge of DSM-5 criteria and standardized assessment instruments
  • Proficiency with standardized screening and assessment tools such as IM-CANS/IM-CAT, ASAM criteria, and other validated instruments
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with diverse populations across the lifespan
  • Training in specialized assessment tools such as neuropsychological testing or trauma-informed assessment
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Additional certifications related to mental health assessment or treatment
  • Experience in a multidisciplinary clinical setting
