Job Summary

A Registered Nurse (RN) – Pulmonary Specialty provides specialized nursing care to residents with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. This role involves administering pulmonary treatments, monitoring respiratory health, educating patients and families, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal pulmonary care.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct pulmonary-focused nursing care, including administering medications, breathing treatments, oxygen therapy, and other prescribed pulmonary interventions.
  • Monitor and assess residents’ respiratory status, including oxygen levels, lung sounds, and overall pulmonary function.
  • Perform and manage pulmonary care procedures such as chest physiotherapy, oxygen management, and airway clearance techniques.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, medications, and resident progress per regulatory standards.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control protocols, especially concerning pulmonary illnesses and treatments.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in pulmonary nursing and implement best practices in respiratory care.

Qualifications
