  • Overview: This position contributes to the mission of the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and the goals of the department by performing accurate and timely testing in those areas for which the employee is licensed by the State of Florida, Agency for Healthcare Administration, Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel.

  • Responsibilities: The applicant must possess current skills in the required licensures so that the orientation period is not a training period, but strictly an orientation period to our facility and its instrumentation, policies and procedures. Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Medical Technology, preferred or associate level technologist.
  • At least one year as a currently active Medical Technologist is preferred.
  • Recent graduates and licensed applicants may be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Florida State licensure as a Medical Technologist under the provisions of Chapter 483.
  • Required licensure in the specialties of Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, and Immunohematology.
  • Serology and Microbiology a plus.
  • ASCP certification, preferred.

Requirements

Requires Florida State licensure as a Medical Technologist with specialties in Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, and Immunohematology. A B.S. or Associate degree in Medical Technology is required, and ASCP certification is preferred.
