As a Locum MD in Psychiatry, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders, collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals. Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and treatment plans Manage medication regimens and monitor patient progress Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic care Conduct individual and group therapy sessions Maintain accurate patient records and documentation Educate patients and families about mental health conditions Participate in case management and discharge planning Stay updated with the latest advancements in psychiatry
MD or DO degree with board certification in Psychiatry Valid medical license in the state of practice Previous experience in psychiatric care preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Excellent diagnostic and treatment planning skills Commitment to patient-centered care Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
Beeper Call: 2 nights per week, 1 weekend per month
Setting: 27-bed inpatient psychiatry unit
Patient Census: 10-14 per day
Patient Population: Adults only, 18+
Duties: Bread & butter psychiatry, consults
Will work with residents
NP support available
Must be board-certified
