About the role

The Surgical Technologist prepares the operating room and ensures all sterile instruments and supplies are available for procedures. They assist the surgical team during operations to maintain a sterile environment and support safe patient care.

Shift

  • First Shift (United States of America) Surgical Technologist – Bellevue Medical Center A Surgical Technologist is a critical member of the perioperative care team who assists surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role is responsible for preparing the operating room, ensuring all sterile instruments and supplies are available and properly arranged, maintaining a sterile environment throughout procedures, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team to support safe and efficient patient care.   • Time 11:00am - 7:30pm, Monday - Friday work weeks
  • Weeknight and 24 hour

  • Required
  • Qualifications: High school education or equivalent required. Surgical technologist certification required. Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program OR equivalent training/scrub experience with an accredited institution required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (BLS with skills assessment or approved BLS) upon completion of unit orientation required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience as a surgical technologist or assistant preferred Knowledge of various surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies/materials, all patient care equipment and supplies, policy, procedure, and protocol manuals, audio-visual, video, and microscopic equipment, computers, telecommunication equipment, and wall/ceiling and tanked medical gases preferred. For some clinical areas, the ability to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish may be preferred. Nebraska Medicine is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma, surgical technologist certification, and be a graduate of an accredited program. BLS certification from an AHA-endorsed program is required upon completion of orientation.
