Responsibilities

  • Identify medical issues, determine severity, and provide immediate support to minimize long-term effects; sustain life if necessary.
  • Serve as an initial responder in the ER, performing rapid triage, initial assessment, and stabilization per protocol.
  • Monitor patient status continuously, administer medications and interventions, interpret vital signs, and escalate as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff; participate in code activations; ensure patient safety and adherence to evidence-based protocols.
  • Document care accurately; communicate with patients and families; provide education and discharge planning as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Oklahoma or an equivalent compact license
  • Minimum 2 years ER nursing experience; recent traveler experience preferred
  • Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA); NIHSS certification and TNCC preferred
  • Ability to work in an ER setting, including 12-hour night shifts (7 PM–7 AM)
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited RN program meeting Oklahoma licensure requirements
  • Submission readiness: Work History Skills Checklist current to 1 year; two Supervisory Reference Forms within the last two years
  • Local candidates may be considered at a reduced rate
