Position Details

Position Name: Physical Therapist I Location: Tawas City, Michigan Specialty: Physical Therapy (Outpatient & Acute Care) Start Date: ASAP Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Pay Rate: Starting at $37.00/hour (Based on experience) Sign-On Bonus: $20,000 (2-year commitment required) Primary Practice Area: Outpatient with some Acute Care coverage Shift: Days (Based on department needs) Position Requirements: New graduates are welcome to apply Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation skills Ability to independently manage patient care plans and treatment programs Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), aides, and students Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care Education, License & Certification Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy – Required Active Physical Therapist (PT) License – Required BLS Certification – Highly Preferred (within one month of hire) Completion of required orientation and competency programs

Job Description

Evaluate patients through formal and informal assessments to determine functional abilities, including skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, and mobility status. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, physician orders, and patient goals. Provide physical therapy interventions to restore, improve, and maintain optimal functional abilities. Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, home exercise programs, safety strategies, and rehabilitation goals. Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants, Physical Therapy Aides, Home Health Aides, and students according to professional and regulatory standards. Recommend adaptive equipment and assist patients with obtaining appropriate supportive devices. Complete accurate and timely documentation required for patient care, billing, and regulatory compliance. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on changes in patient condition. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate effective patient care. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and program development. Serve as a case manager for assigned patients when required. Promote physical therapy services through patient education and community outreach. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all safety, infection control, and compliance standards. Perform additional duties as assigned.
