About the role

The Registered Nurse is responsible for recording patient medical histories, assisting physicians during endoscopy procedures, and managing the recovery and discharge of sedated patients. They must maintain accurate electronic health records and provide essential health education to patients and their families.

Position Details

  • Schedule: 0.9FTE- 4 9hour shifts
  • Location: Bloomington Minneapolis - MNGI Digestive Health
  • Salary Range: Starting range $40.39 - $46.45/hour (Where an applicant may fall on the salary range will vary based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience & education)

  • Key responsibilities
  • Record patients’ medical history and assessment.
  • Start IV/saline lock.
  • Perform INR and glucose testing.
  • Prepare patients for and assist physician in endoscopy procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records in the electronic health record.
  • Recovery of sedated patients and discharge assessments.
  • Utilize proper infection control techniques.
  • Monitor all aspects of patient care, anticipate patient and physician needs.
  • Instruct individuals and families on topics such as health education and disease prevention.
  • Additional Responsibilities May Include:
  • Infusion and injection administration
  • Esophageal Motility/PH testing
  • ARM/Biofeedback
  • InterSTIM wire placement and removal
  • Assist with BRAVO Capsule placement
  • Capsule studies
  • Maintain supplies by keeping supplies stock for the Endoscopy Center and order as needed
  • On-Call Prep RN (Vadnais Heights Endoscopy Site)
  • Responding to patient calls while on call (evening, weekend or holiday)
  • At our Vadnais Heights, Lakeville, Northeast Minneapolis and Maple Grove Endoscopy Sites:
  • Admission, recovery, and procedural care of pediatric patients
  • All RNs at the Northeast Minneapolis location will be expected to care for pediatric patients
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Education and/Or experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
  • One to two years of clinical experience is preferred.
  • GI related experience is preferred.
  • Experience using an Electronic Health Record is required.
  • PACU experience preferred

Certifications/Licenses

Current Minnesota Nursing License is required.

Must be BLS certified.

Pediatric sites require PALS certification for Charge Nurses.
