About the role

Assist physicians with patient treatment, minor procedures, and the preparation of patients and exam rooms. Perform various clerical tasks including scheduling appointments and managing patient charts.

Mondays 9 am - 5 pm, Tuesdays 9 am - 12

  • 30 pm, and
  • Thursdays 9 am - 12:30 pm

General Summary

Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for physician(s), and performs various clerical duties.

Works under the supervision of the Office Coordinator and Physician(s).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.

Assist Drs. with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).

Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).

Escorting patients to exam room.

Preparing exam rooms.

Preparing patient for Drs. (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).

Sterilizing and preparing instruments.

At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.

Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.

Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.

Administering injections.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required

Consistently arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire.

Completes all tasks within established time frame.

Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.

Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.

Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA).

Education

• Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.

Preferred

• Clinical medical office experience.

Requirements

Requires a Medical Assisting degree or diploma and credentialing as a CMA or RMA. Clinical medical office experience is preferred.
