About the role

Provide direct nursing care to high-risk labor and delivery patients, including monitoring maternal and fetal status and responding to obstetric emergencies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and document all patient data within the EPIC electronic health record.

Overview Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) travel assignment in Burlington, Vermont.

Start date 08/24/2026 for approximately 13–16 weeks.

Shift is 3x12 Night shifts in a hospital setting.

Weekly pay range: $2,615 to $2,852 per week.

This is a travel - temporary assignment with no guaranteed hours, requiring EPIC EMR proficiency and high-risk L&D experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to obstetric patients, focusing on high-risk Labor & Delivery
  • Monitor labor progression, fetal monitoring, maternal vital signs, and administer medications as ordered
  • Assist with deliveries and provide immediate postpartum care; support clinical team during emergencies
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesia, and nursing colleagues; ensure safe, evidence-based care
  • Document all patient interactions and care in EPIC; maintain accurate, compliant charting and handoffs
  • Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge instructions, and post-delivery expectations

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; state-specific licensure may be required for assignment
  • Certifications: NRP, BLS, ACLS, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (Equivalency) or equivalent per requirements
  • EPIC EMR experience within the past 12 months
  • Minimum 2 years of high-risk L&D experience; first-time traveler may be considered with 2+ years in high-risk L&D
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; weekend coverage as scheduled
  • Reliable transportation; public transportation is not accessible in the area
