About the role

Deliver direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients on a telemetry-enabled unit, including cardiac monitoring and bedside procedures. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient flow and maintain accurate documentation in Epic.

  • Weekly pay: $2,021–$2,195 per week.

12-hour night shifts, 3 nights per week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide bedside RN care on the Med-Surg with Telemetry unit; monitor telemetry, interpret rhythms, and respond to changes per unit protocol.
  • Perform NG tube insertion, peripheral IV placement, and manage telemetry equipment; administer medications via Pyxis and IV therapies.
  • Care for postoperative patients (orthopedics, urology, GI) and medical conditions (COPD, CHF, diabetes); support end-of-life and placement needs; communicate with families and the care team.
  • Document all patient care in the electronic medical record; operate monitoring equipment (Mindray monitors) and pumps (Sigma IV, PCA); manage bed systems and respond to nurse calls.
  • Collaborate with RNs, LPNs/LNAs, unit clerks, and charge nurses to deliver coordinated patient care and maintain safety and comfort.

Requirements

  • Current, active RN license valid in Vermont
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required prior to start; BLS and ACLS required; Telemetry certification preferred - 5 years med-surg telemetry experience or 3 years tele experience
  • Travel experience required; 2 prior travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities OR prior experience at a UVM Health Network acute care facility
  • EPIC experience within the past 2 years
  • Must be able to begin within the next week and have reliable transportation to report to the unit
