Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the CVICU, including those with multi-system involvement requiring ventilation.
• Monitor hemodynamic status, respiratory function, neurological status, and other critical care parameters; respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Manage ventilated patients and utilize equipment for hemodynamic monitoring, neuro/trauma care, and respiratory support as appropriate.
• Supervise and delegate care tasks to ancillary staff within their scope of practice, ensuring safe and high-quality care.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, perfusionists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record and uphold patient safety, infection prevention, and evidence-based ICU protocols.

Requirements

• Active RN license in California
• ICU/CVICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
• Ability to work nights and function effectively in a high-acuity critical care setting
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Able to meet the demands of a 12-hour night shift and manage complex patient needs
