Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU (5-bed unit)
  • Monitor patient status, manage assessments, medications, and device therapies as ordered
  • Administer treatments per physician orders and facility protocols; document care in the electronic health record
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams to adjust care plans
  • Float to ED, Med/Surg, or Peds as needed; assist with post-operative recovery and emergent events
  • Educate patients and families, ensure safety, comfort, and adherence to infection prevention and safety standards

Requirements

  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license to practice in the United States (any state, territory, or DC)
  • Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of ICU experience
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) completed within 6 months of hire; Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) within 6 months of hire; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 6 months of hire
  • Additional: Ability to work in an ICU setting and float to other units as needed; comfort providing care to a broad age range
