The RN ICU is responsible for assessing patient needs, developing collaborative care plans, and delivering high-quality evidence-based care. They must maintain accurate documentation and ensure patient safety through critical thinking and effective delegation.

Education: Must have completed an accredited nursing program and possess a valid nursing license for the state of Iowa. License(s)/Certification(s): Valid nursing license Basic Certified Life Support certification prior to hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months from date of hire, UNLESS ADT Nurse and not part of code blue team. Must obtain NIHSS education within 90 days of hire and maintain every two years thereafter. Completion of six hours of stroke education prior to the end of orientation and annually.
