About the role

The OR RN provides direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. They are responsible for preparing operating rooms and collaborating with the interdisciplinary surgical team to ensure positive patient outcomes.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our Surgical Services team. The OR RN is responsible for providing direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures while collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Essential responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients.

Prepare operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.

Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention standards.

Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative experience.

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and support staff.

Document patient care and surgical activities accurately and timely.

Respond effectively to emergency situations and changing patient conditions.

Participate in on-call rotation as required.

Qualifications

  • Required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Preferred
  • Previous Operating Room nursing experience.
  • ACLS certification.
  • CNOR certification or willingness to obtain.

Requirements
