As a Locum MD in Psychiatry, you will play a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and managing a diverse range of psychiatric conditions. Your expertise will be essential in developing treatment plans and engaging with patients to improve their mental well-being. This role contributes directly to enhancing the quality of care and ensuring the effective delivery of psychiatric services in our community.
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients Provide psychotherapy and medication management as needed Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care Document patient progress and treatment outcomes Participate in case management and treatment planning meetings Stay current with developments in psychiatric treatment and practices Provide education and support to patients and their families
MD degree from an accredited medical school Valid medical license to practice psychiatry in New York Previous experience in a psychiatric setting is preferred Strong diagnostic and assessment skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team Knowledge of current best practices in psychiatric medicine
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30a-4:30p
Weekday and weekend call
Average Daily Census: 5-10 patients
Patient Population: Primarily adult, adolescent coverage if needed
Support Staff: 2 MDs, 1 NP
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
