Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory care services to patients of all ages with cardiorespiratory impairments in the acute care setting
  • Administer aerosolized medications and facilitate secretion clearance per physician orders
  • Support ventilation through invasive and non-invasive devices and adjust therapy as directed
  • Conduct critical monitoring, including gas exchange, oxygenation, and other physiologic metrics
  • Document patient status, interventions, and response; communicate with the care team
  • Maintain equipment, ensure infection control practices, and participate in care planning as part of the interprofessional team
