Position Details

Position Type: PRN (As Needed) Compensation: Weekend shift differential for eligible weekend hours Schedule: Clinic hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Rotating weekend coverage required Flexible scheduling based on clinic needs, including occasional early or late patient appointments

Position Summary

The Registered Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures that assist orthopedic providers in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions. This position combines technical expertise with compassionate patient care while maintaining the highest standards of image quality and radiation safety. This position requires adherence to Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine's Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, and all organizational policies and procedures. Compliance is an essential job responsibility and is considered during performance evaluations. Key Responsibilities Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring their comfort and safety. Explain imaging procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation. Operate radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images using appropriate exposure techniques. Position and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal images as requested by the provider. Practice radiation safety to protect patients, providers, and staff. Perform routine orthopedic imaging procedures, including: Digital radiography Fluoroscopy Review images for quality, accuracy, and proper patient identification before submitting for physician interpretation. Prepare and transmit images for provider review. Perform routine equipment maintenance, identify equipment concerns, and coordinate service repairs when necessary. Complete required documentation, logs, reports, and medical records accurately and timely. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.

Qualifications

Required Associate degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program. Current ARRT certification. Current CPR certification. Basic computer proficiency. Strong commitment to patient confidentiality and professionalism. Preferred Six months or more of clinical radiology experience. Experience in an orthopedic or outpatient clinical setting. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, stretch, and reach throughout the workday. Frequently assist with positioning patients, including lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Communicate effectively in person and by phone. Perform close visual work while reviewing images and operating imaging equipment. Work Environment This position is based in a busy outpatient orthopedic clinic. Team members may occasionally be exposed to cleaning agents or other medical chemicals. The work environment is generally moderate in noise level and requires consistent attention to patient safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

Requires an Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, current ARRT certification, and CPR certification. Preferred candidates have clinical radiology experience, specifically within an orthopedic or outpatient setting.
