Responsible for the technical application and scrubbing of cardiac catheterization procedures for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Focuses on diagnostic procedures, interventional cardiovascular treatments, and the implantation of pacemakers and ICDs.
This position is responsible for the technical application, scrubbing cases, assisting the physician from cardiac catheterization procedures performed on the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient in order to determine appropriate patient treatment. The Cardiovascular Technician is expected to adhere to the HHS policy, procedures, values and standards. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s policies and procedures.
1. Diagnostic cardiac catheterization and peripheral vascular procedures. 2. Balloon angioplasty and other interventional cardiovascular procedures. 3. IABP, temporary and permanent Pacemakers, and ICD Implants. 4. Cardiac Cath Lab radiographic application
Requires a high school diploma or GED and certification as an ARRT or RCIS. Must hold BLS certification and obtain ACLS within 90 days of hire.
