Clarity Wellness Community is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team. In this vital role, you will walk alongside individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges, providing support, building trust, fostering independence, and helping them navigate their personal path to recovery.

What You'll Do

As a Peer Support Specialist, you'll provide community- and home-based services that uplift, encourage, and empower individuals. Your work will include:

Support & Engagement, Skill Building & Recovery Coaching, Community Connection & Resource Navigation, Collaboration & Documentation

What You Bring

We're looking for someone who

Identifies as being in active recovery from a behavioral health condition and is willing to self-disclose their journey.

Holds (or is eligible for) OMH New York Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) certification or Office of Addiction Services peer certification.

Has experience supporting adults with behavioral health challenges (preferred).

Understands harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and person-centered recovery models.

Has strong communication, coping, and problem-solving skills.

Is adaptable, empathetic, and able to think critically in complex situations.

Is proficient, or willing to become proficient, in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.

Holds a valid driver's license, has at least 3 years of driving history, and can pass a DMV check.

Travel & Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday.

Travel throughout Wyoming County to homes and community locations is required.

Schedule may vary based on client needs.

Requirements

Must be in active recovery from a behavioral health condition and hold or be eligible for NYCPS or OAS peer certification. A valid driver's license and proficiency in electronic medical records are required.
