Shift

First Shift (United States of America) Medical Social Worker - Olson Women Center Seeking a compassionate, skilled and experienced medical social worker to join the social work team in The Olson Center for Women's Health. The Olson Center OBGYN Social Worker provides psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, care and resource coordination for patients on the main campus of Nebraska Medicine. The OBGYN Social Worker advocates for patient needs and assists with resources in the community. This position works in collaboration with OBGYN medical providers, the Financial Counselor, and the Labor and Delivery/ NICU Social Workers. Participates in pediatric social work team meetings and coverage as needed. Participates in Olson Center meetings and programs. Provide support and intervention to ensure assistance for patients and families with personal and/or environmental difficulties which predispose illness or interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from medical care. Medical Social Worker Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited university required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in social work required.
  • Knowledge of professional guidelines regarding confidentiality of client and staff information required.
  • Competent in the use of a variety of computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word required.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse patient groups and their families required.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing required.
  • Must demonstrate personal traits of a high-level commitment, motivation and energy, team orientation, and professionalism required.
  • Knowledge of health care services and resources required.
  • Ability to work independently required.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Certified Social Worker (CSW) by Nebraska law OR Provisional Certified Master of Social Work (PCMSW) required.

Note

If this position is for the geriatric department - Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required.

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for non-geriatric departments preferred.

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited university and at least two years of social work experience. Candidates must hold a CSW or PCMSW certification as per Nebraska law.
