The Emergency Department Technician (EDT) performs a wide variety of patient care tasks utilizing a Patient Focused Care model. They follow standardized procedures prescribed in a clinical pathway, including activities related to direct patient care, diagnostic testing, patient transport and documentation, as directed by the RN. Essential job functions and responsibilities are as follows (but not limited to) Basic patient care, vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, and communication. Teamwork is vital!

  • Requirements: Highschool Diploma or equivalent (but not necessarily required) Active NA certificate or (2) years of experience in a role as a PCA, EDT, or CNA in acute or long term care. or Basic Life Support (BLS) - Active CPR certificate required or 3rd yr BSN student who was completed two clinical rotations or Medical Assistant or

Requirements
