Summary

Surgery scheduling and coordination are critical components of patient care. It is a complex process of coordinating patients' personal schedules and needs, surgeons' schedules, access to hospital facilities and insurance authorizations. Must have strong communication skills to coordinate with clinic, surgeon, OR, ASC and outside personnel to ensure case accuracy from creation to completion. Responsibilities

Presbyterian is seeking a surgery scheduler to manage complex OR, ASC, and clinic schedules for advanced specialties like robotic, total joint replacement, and oncological surgeries. In this fast-paced medical role, you will coordinate crucial preoperative logistics—including labs, diagnostics, and physician clearances—while securing essential insurance prior authorizations and medical coding verification prior to all procedures. Utilizing Epic template management software and computerized staffing tools, the ideal candidate must demonstrate independent decision-making to handle real-time operational disruptions like emergency add-ons and cancellations. This full-time healthcare position requires exceptional patient communication skills via phone and MyChart, a high dedication to scheduling accuracy, and a strong commitment to collaborating with medical providers to deliver seamless patient care.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • A minimum of 18 months’ experience in a clinical setting.
  • Previous one on one experience with surgeon/s required
  • Requires strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to function under pressure while maintaining professionalism
  • Familiarity to CPT and ICD-10 coding
