The Certified Nurse Midwife provides comprehensive women's health care, including prenatal care and health maintenance exams in an ambulatory setting. They are responsible for managing acute and chronic illnesses while collaborating with physicians and participating in performance improvement projects.
Under the leadership of the Director, Physician Services, the Certified Nurse Midwife is an active member of the Physician Services team that delivers medical care consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction of Physician Services and CRHS. The Certified Nurse Midwife is responsible for providing women’s health to patients throughout their life cycles while emphasizing wellness promotion, illness prevention, care of acute minor illnesses and stable chronic illnesses for all life cycles.
• Education:
Requires and maintains current state license as a Registered Nurse.
Requires and maintains current state certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife.
Maintains a current certification in Basic Life Support (If BLS verification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.)
Candidates must hold a current Certified Nurse Midwife license and a Registered Nurse license, along with BLS certification. Two to four years of related work experience is required.
