About the role

The RN Residential Nurse manages medication practices and provides direct medical care for adults with serious mental illness and substance misuse. They coordinate physical health needs with medical providers and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve client outcomes.

The RN Residential Nurse position contributes to the accomplishment of the Agency’s mission through the evaluation of medication management practices, other pertinent health education programming, direct care of client medical needs as appropriate to the scope of a RN, care coordination of physical health needs with medical providers, as well as the shared oversight of the health and well-being of clients within Residential Treatment Services.

The RN Residential Nurse is a member of the Adult Residential Treatment Team.

Residential Treatment serves adults living with serious and persistent mental illness, substance misuse, and may be experiencing homelessness.

The RN Residential Nurse will partner closely with the Program Director to achieve positive program and client outcomes.

The RN Residential Nurse will work within an interdisciplinary team approach to support integrated health outcomes for clients with mental illness complicated by core morbid chronic health conditions who may also have a substance use disorder.

The RN Residential Nurse will utilize the recovery oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered approach to care.

Work is performed, reviewed, and evaluated under the supervision of the Program Director and the Nursing Director (with support of Consulting Medical Director as needed), and the Vice President Continuous Quality Improvement.

Medical consultation and peer supervision are provided through the Nursing Director and/or the Consulting Medical Director.

Requirements

The candidate must be a Registered Nurse capable of working within a trauma-informed and person-centered framework. They should be able to manage complex cases involving co-occurring mental health and chronic physical health conditions.
