SeaPort Veterinary Hospital is searching for an experienced, part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our close-knit team in Gloucester, Massachusetts. We care for cats, dogs, exotic pets, and local wildlife while complementing traditional medical care with laser therapy, dental radiography, and ultrasound services. What You’ll Do Safely and compassionately restrain patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures. Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with appointments and patient care. Help manage the flow of technician-based appointments. Fill medications and administer oral and injectable medications as directed. Perform or assist with phlebotomy and sample collection. Operate laboratory equipment and help process diagnostic samples. Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic procedures. Communicate clearly and professionally with clients about their pets’ care. Maintain accurate patient information in the hospital’s electronic medical-record systems. Help keep treatment areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for patient care. What You’ll Bring Previous veterinary assistant experience is preferred. Confidence and competency with patient restraint. Experience filling and administering medications and treatments. Familiarity with phlebotomy, laboratory equipment, and radiographic procedures. Strong client communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to multitask and maintain professional behavior in a busy environment. A respectful, compassionate approach to patients, clients, and coworkers. The ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team. A desire to expand your knowledge and continue developing your clinical skills. Requirements

Previous experience as a veterinary assistant is preferred, with proven competency in patient restraint and phlebotomy. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
