We are looking for a full-time Radiologic Technologist to be based at the outpatient clinic in Westchester, IL located inside the Prairie Medical Center just 5 miles away from Oak Brook.

The Radiologic Technologist maintains and uses equipment and supplies to produce high quality radiographic images of the patient's anatomy for diagnostic purposes.

This position is Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Prepare patient for radiologic procedures and takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.

Maintain working knowledge in the use of PACS, DR, and CR Radiologic equipment.

Use C-Arm where appropriate.

Prepare medications for, and assists the physician with Fluoroscopic procedures.

Maintain Radiology rooms and stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies

Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.

Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.

Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.

Moves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.

Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.

Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.

Assists physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations. Measures and prepares medication and contrast media.

Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.

Prepares images for reading by the requesting physician.

Notifies the Radiology Manager regarding malfunctions and repairs as needed.

Properly uses EHR to enter CPT codes for billing purposes.

Travel as required to other satellite outpatient clinic as needed for coverage.

Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Graduate of an accredited X-Ray Technologist Program.

American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) license as an RT is required.

Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) certification is required.

Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety (IDNS) certification is required.

Orthopedic experience is preferred.

New graduates are welcome to apply with a strong desire to learn.

Pay Range

$32.00 - $37.00 per hour. Compensation at MOR is determined by many factors, which may include but are not limited to, job-related skills and level of experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market data and internal equity. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited X-Ray Technologist Program with ARRT, IEMA, and IDNS certifications. Orthopedic experience is preferred, though new graduates are welcome to apply.
