About the role

Perform complex ultrasound procedures and assist radiologists with invasive tasks using aseptic techniques. Responsible for explaining procedures to patients, manipulating images, and utilizing PACS and HIS/RIS systems.

What You Will Need · H.S.

Diploma or Equivalent required · Graduate of an AMA accredited school of Ultrasound Technology preferred · Associates degree preferred · 2 years of clinical experience in hospital radiology preferred · ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and one additional modality (must include RT(VS), if performing vascular sonography · ARDMS – American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers with 2 certifications (must include RVT, if performing vascular sonography · BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required What You Will Do · Explain procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam. · Perform complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations. · Adjust ultrasound parameters appropriately for age related factors · Assist Radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic techniqu · Process and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoot, and suggest differential diagnosis · Utilize proper downtown procedures for PACS, Ambra and HIS/RIS · Work in tandem with staff to ensure laser images are placed of CD from modalityor, PACSare printed or Ambra as needed Additional perks of being a Texas Health Employee: · Benefits include 401k, PTO, medical, dental, Paid Parental Leave, flex spending, tuition reimbursement, Student Loan Repayment Program, as well as several other benefits. · Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice. · Strong Unit Based Council (UBC). · A supportive, team environment with outstanding opportunities for growth.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma and BCLS certification, with a preference for an associate degree and graduation from an AMA accredited school. Candidates should ideally have 2 years of clinical experience and certifications from ARRT and ARDMS.
