UT Health East Physicians, CVC Clinic is hiring a full-time Physician Assistant (or Nurse Practitioner) to join our cardiology team at UT Health Athens and our Cardiovascular Clinic.

About the Position

2-5 years of cardiology experience required Combination of inpatient and outpatient clinic responsibilities Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Friday, 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Patient load: 15–20 patients per day Split schedule between UT Health Athens in the mornings and the Cardiology Clinic in the afternoons Inpatient responsibilities include performing consults, evaluating ED patients, and overseeing stress tests Outpatient responsibilities include evaluating new and established patients with cardiac conditions and performing comprehensive history and physical examinations Additional shifts are available and compensated Collaborate with two cardiologists UT Health East Texas Recruitment Package may include: Base Salary Potential Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness program CME allowance Commencement bonus Medical debt consultative services by Navigate Student Loans Relocation allowance Paid malpractice coverage Health benefits + Retirement plan Marketing + practice growth assistance About UT Health Athens: UT Health Athens is a short-term acute care facility recognized for excellence, earning an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, placement on Newsweek’s America’s Best-in-State Hospitals 2025 list, and recognition from the Texas Hospital Association for its long-standing service and commitment to high-quality healthcare. Our service area has a population of over 1.1 million. About UT Tyler School of Medicine: The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. Its mission is to train future healthcare professionals to embrace responsibility for the unique needs of rural and hard-to-reach communities and populations, particularly those in East Texas. The school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program, with 20 residency and fellowship training programs, enabling graduates to gain specialized skills in areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia. Additionally, UT Tyler’s Master of Biotechnology program provides students with an interdisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes medical research and biotechnology innovation, preparing them for careers in medical research, diagnostics and therapeutic development. Construction is currently underway on a five-story, 248,000-square-foot Medical Education Building (MEB) in Tyler’s Midtown District. Connected by a skybridge to UT Health Tyler, the MEB will support interdisciplinary education for medical students and resident training.
