About the role

Overview Registered Nurse – Charge Acute Care in the Emergency Department.

This travel assignment is located in Geneva, NY, at a short-term acute care setting.

The start date is August 17, 2026, for a 27-week contract through January 2027.

Weekly pay ranges from $2,081 to $2,182.

Shift pattern is 3x12-hour rotating days/nights with on-call shifts; typical rotation includes holiday coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including rapid triage and assessment of patients across age groups
  • Initiate and perform primary and secondary assessments; identify urgent priorities and implement appropriate interventions
  • Administer treatments and life-sustaining therapies, monitor patient responses, and escalate as needed
  • Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and treatments; assist with post-emergency referrals and discharge planning
  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team; educate patients on care plans, medications, and home care instructions
  • Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and quality standards; participate in team collaboration and patient-centered care

Requirements

  • Active NYS Registered Nurse licensure
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; NIHSS knowledge or certification preferred
  • Stroke Certification required (AHA or RQI)
  • Minimum of 2 years overall RN experience in acute hospital settings; at least 1 year of ED experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment with a rotating 3x12 schedule, including nights and holidays
