About the role

Overview Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Charge Acute Care) seeking a travel professional in Penn Yan, New York. Start date: 08/31/2026. Travel – temporary assignment for approximately 22 to 26 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,157 to $2,252 per week.

Responsibilities

  • Triage on arrival, establish initial priorities, connect with patient and family to set expectations
  • Perform primary and secondary assessments across all ages; identify urgent or emergent needs
  • Deliver direct nursing care including invasive and non-invasive procedures, medications, and treatments
  • Collaborate with the ED team to manage life-threatening and routine conditions; coordinate post-emergency referrals
  • Educate patients and families, provide discharge instructions, document care, and uphold infection prevention and safety

Requirements

  • Active New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only)
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience; 1 year acute hospital experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced ED setting with patients across all ages
  • Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes holidays
