The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care under physician direction, including rooming patients and recording vital signs. They facilitate clinic workflow by managing patient charges, coordinating referrals, and assisting with patient education.
Healthcare Technician I: High school diploma/GED. Certification or licensure from an accredited medical assistant program. Healthcare Technician II: High school diploma/GED. Certification or licensure from an accredited medical assistant program. One (1) year of experience in a medical clinic. Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Associates Degree Medical Office experience in area of specialty (hematology). EPIC EMR experience. Bilingual in English/Spanish. One (1) year of experience in patient financial counseling in a healthcare setting. Pediatric and Adult phlebotomy experience.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross healthcare provider-level CPR certification.

Outstanding customer service skills. Attention to detail. Strong Business and Organizational Competence. Strong knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 procedures. Anticipated Pay Range: The starting salary range for this position has been established as: Healthcare Technician I: $44,116 – $53,380 Healthcare Technician II: $47,813 – $57,854 The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
