Cleveland Clinic's Orthopaedic department is focused on treating patients with an array of conditions that affect the bones, muscles and joints including musculoskeletal tumors, joint replacements, adult reconstructive surgery and sports medicine.

A caregiver in this position works full-time day shift. Orientation will be 7

00am - 3:30pm for 6 months. Shift time will be assigned near the end of the 6 month orientation period. Call rotation is required and will include weekends, nights and holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will

  • Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures. Perform scrub and circulating functions. Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.
  • Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross *If performing moderate/procedural sedation must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 6 months of hire. One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency

  • Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically.

Requires a nursing degree from an accredited school, current RN licensure, and BLS certification. Candidates must have one year of RN experience or completion of the Cleveland Clinic Perioperative Residency Program.
