The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional care to a group of adult and geriatric patients. This includes utilizing the nursing process, therapeutic modalities, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.
The staff RN is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the therapeutic environment, treatment and modalities and interdisciplinary collaboration necessary for the care of patients ranging from adult through geriatric.
Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree, Diploma or Baccalaureate Degree program in Nursing preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Have a current licensure or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state. BLS required upon hire. ACLS within 60 days.
Experience &
Knowledge: Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development necessary for assessment, range of treatment and care of patients ranging from adult through geriatrics. Knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures, patient care procedures, and the ability to operate technical equipment as acquired through orientation
Candidates must have a nursing degree and a current RN license in Tennessee or a compact state. BLS certification is required upon hire, with ACLS required within 60 days.
