Responsible for assisting endoscopists during invasive exams, including room setup, equipment operation, and scope sterilization. Additionally manages patient vitals, transport, and the monitoring of supply par levels.
This position is primarily responsible for assisting in GI Lab performing endoscopic procedures.
GI tech is responsible for room and equipment set up, supplies, charging, procedure room organization and equipment cleaning.
Other duties include: obtaining vitals on surgical patients, assisting with patient discharge, patient transporting, entering lab requests and answering the telephone.
As a GI Tech, you will: Assist endoscopist and operate equipment during an invasive exam Actively participates in patient education by appropriately utilizing available resources and adjusting it to meet the patient's individual needs Post procedure, assists with patient transport, properly sterilizes scopes, ensures exams are charged and procedures logged Monitors and audits sterilization cycles with DSD.
Obtains scope culture status and reports appropriately Monitors par levels, orders supplies, and notifies supervisor of supply or equipment needs Required Skills & Qualifications: High School Diploma required 1 year of GI Tech experience Employee must have a valid BLS upon hire.
CPI required within 90 days of hire.
