About the role

The RN assesses and monitors the physiological and psychological needs of patients across all age groups during the perioperative period. They develop individualized care plans and coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and successful discharge.

Overview Shift

  • Monday-Friday; 8 and 12-hour shifts starting at 5:00am (may include possible call shifts) As an RN in Outpatient Surgery/Endoscopy, you'll deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while guiding patients through every step of their surgical journey. Responsibilities

Assesses and monitors total physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs of infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients during the periopartive period. Develops and maintains with the patient/significant other, an individualized, professionally modified plan of care reflective of changing needs/goals as determined by evaluating the patient/significant other response to the plan of care. Provides nursing care in accordance with nursing standards and the infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient's plan of care. Assesses and plans for discharge needs, evaluates adult and geriatric patients and significant others educational needs and initiates and implements appropriate teaching protocols or makes appropriate referrals. Documents nursing care consistent with documentation guidelines Communicates effectively with other members of the healthcare team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services

Qualifications

Education: Associate Degree in Nursing is required Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred Experience: Med-Surg experience preferred License(s)/Certification(s)": Current RN Licensure in State of Iowa or applicable compact state. Must be licensed in state of residence Basic Life Support completion is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support is required. Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

Requirements

An Associate Degree in Nursing is required, while a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Med-Surg experience are preferred. Candidates must hold a current RN license in Iowa or a compact state, along with BLS and ACLS certifications.
