Job Overview

Fairview is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Physician - Psychiatry - Adult Inpatient to join our Behavioral Health team in a CASUAL inpatient role based in Minneapolis at University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank. The physician will provide care in an inpatient hospital setting with a focus on adult psychiatric care and medication management. Provides care and collaborates on treatment plans and decisions for care with a multidisciplinary team of care givers and support staff. Ensures clinical excellence by ensuring quality, focusing on the patient experience, operational and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for adult patients admitted to the inpatient psychiatric unit.

Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including nursing, social work, psychology, and case management.

Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, evaluating therapeutic response and side effects.

Conduct daily patient rounds and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.

Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments when needed.

When applicable, provide education and training to learners, including students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications

Graduate of an ACGME or AOA accredited Psychiatry residency program Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry Eligible for or able to obtain Minnesota medical license Ability to obtain DEA certification in Minnesota Meet credentialing and privileging criteria Preferred - Fellowship training in areas such as Addiction Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Pain Medicine, or Hospice & Palliative Medicine

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an ACGME or AOA accredited Psychiatry residency and be Board Certified or Board Eligible. Requires a Minnesota medical license and DEA certification.
