Summary Doylestown Hospital Laboratory provides robust laboratory services to a busy, 250 bed hospital as well as outpatient physician offices. The successful candidate can look forward to working collaboratively with fellow pathologists as well as clinicians throughout the system. Applicants should possess strong surgical pathology skills and be board certified in AP/CP. Fellowship training or equivalent experience in cytopathology and/or hematopathology is highly desirable.

Doylestown Hospital is a community hospital located in the center of Bucks County, Pa, with convenient access to Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley. The department of pathology receives over 16,000 surgical cases, 2500 cytology cases and performs over 1 million laboratory tests in a typical year. Special diagnostic testing includes immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and next generation sequencing.

Job Description

MD or equivalent with 0-1 year of experience and training in surgical pathology is required. Applicants should have strong surgical pathology skills and be board certified in AP/CP. Fellowship training or equivalent experience in cytopathology and/or hematopathology is highly desirable.Doylestown Hospital Laboratory provides robust laboratory services to a busy, 250 bed hospital as well as outpatient physician offices. The department of pathology receives over 16,000 surgical cases, 2500 cytology cases and performs over 1 million laboratory tests in a typical year. Special diagnostic testing includes immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and next generation sequencing. Responsibilities include daily sign out of a mixture of general surgical pathology cases, GYN and non-GYN cytology, FNA on-site evaluation, frozen section coverage, weekly tumor board coverage, and AP/CP call. No autopsy or grossing responsibilities. Two and a half pathologist assistants, one cytotechnologist, 5 histotechnologists and one and half assistants provide outstanding support and expertise. Night/weekend call every 4th week.

Qualifications

MD and 0-1 year of experience, with training in surgical pathology. Applicants should possess strong surgical pathology skills and be board certified in AP/CP. Fellowship training or equivalent experience in cytopathology and/or hematopathology is highly desirable.
