About the role

The Mental Health Technician coordinates patient-centric therapeutic strategies and conducts observation rounds for individuals with mental illness or substance issues. Key duties include participating in treatment planning, assisting with admissions, and preparing group therapy sessions.

The Mental Health Technician is responsible for observation rounds of persons whose lives are disrupted or complicated by mental illness, behavioral disturbance, substance issues or inability to function or maintain in the community.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or GED Certified Nursing Assistants and Registered Behavioral Technicians are encouraged to apply.
  • Valid driver's license with no suspensions or tickets for major traffic violations for at least three years.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within first week of hire.
  • Must be able and willing to become certified in therapeutic restraint technique program (Handle With Care).
  • Additional pay offered for lifeguard certification.
